The club was chartered in 2005 by Mariet Verhoef-Cohen as the charter office and Florence Aseka as the charter President. The current President (2020-2022) is Rosemary Adhiambo.
Currently SI club of Mumias is undertaking the projects in the following areas: Women empowerment, Environmental sustainability, water and sanitation,education for Elimination of Gender based violence(GBV) and mentorship for girls.
Main current projects being GBV- to sensitize and mentor the Deaf girls and women on their rights against gender based violence and uplifting the vulnerable and the neglected elderly widows.
