Lugari Community Resource Center CEO Ms Khayanga Wasike has been carrying out Youth Leadership and Mentorship Trainings yearly for the last nine years. This year to mark the first decade of this event Soroptimist International (SI) President, through Presodential Appeal sponsored the event.She lamented her not being able to attend physically due to Covid-19 restrictions and other commitments among other reasons.
However, the Training was officially opened by Ms. Mary Muia, Si Director and closed by Ms. Judith Apondo,SI Kenya Union President, see photos in the gallery.
The yearly training aims to empower girls ,aged 13-17years in building their foundations and fostering their life engagement in peace,good governance,human rights,finanacial literacy,female health,mental health,entrepreneurship and community connections.The girls gain the tools and information to become responsible and accountable women.
